Exhibition and Book Presentation by Viki Grošelj

In celebration of this year’s important milestones in Slovenian mountaineering history, we invite all lovers of mountains, history, and literature to the opening of a special exhibition dedicated to two exceptional achievements:

– The 50th anniversary of the first Slovenian ascent of Makalu, the first Slovenian eight-thousander
– The 30th anniversary of the ascent and ski descent from Annapurna, the last climbed eight-thousander

The special guest of the event will be Viki Grošelj, a top Slovenian mountaineer, lecturer, and author, and a participant in both historic expeditions. On this occasion, he will also present his latest book, titled Makalu, 8481 – The First Slovenian Eight-Thousander and the Time After.

The event will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM, in Korotan Hall – Zgornje Jezersko 57.

The exhibition will be on display from August 13^th  to 28^st , every day between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
