Workshop: Wool Processing Demonstration at Šenk’s Homestead
The wool of the native Jezersko-Solčava sheep is high quality and ideal for making a variety of products. From socks and jackets to blankets and small decorative items, skilled hands created many useful and beautiful items.
At Šenk’s Homestead, you will see a demonstration of this nearly forgotten tradition. With the guidance of a local craftswoman, you can try it yourself: First, you will card the wool on brushes. Then, you will spin it into yarn using a spinning wheel. Finally, you can also felt the wool, and together you will make a felted wool soap.
