Pristovški Storžič (1759 m)


Pristovški Storžič lies at the northern border with Austria and it is a part of the old coral reef of the Karavanke mountain chain.

The trail is on some parts steeper but equipped with wire ropes for your safety. The top of the mountain is by the iron cross from where beautiful view of Jezersko and surrounding mountains opens up. For descent you can use the same trail or you can choose to take northern trail over the saddle Pasterk on the Austrian side and continue on a marked trail back to Jezerski vrh.

Access: Jezersko – Jezerski vrh (SLO-AUT border) (parking) – forest gravel road (30 minutes) – walking trail all the way to the top (iron cross) (1 h 30 min).



Veliki vrh (1742 m)


The beginning of the trail to Veliki vrh is very easy but then it gets steep. Otherwise this is a good choice for those who like walking in the forest.

Access: Jezersko – asphalt road in direction of Bio Tourist Farm Makek – the end of asphalt road – gravel road straight forward in direction of Čedca waterfall – Mlinarjevo sedlo (weekend house) – Veliki vrh (2 h).



Čedca waterfall


Čedca waterfall used to have the highest, 132 metres, drop of water of all Slovenian waterfalls.

That was before multiple landfalls started in May 2008 and completely changed the shape of the wall and the flow of the water. Today you can take a walk to see the mighty landfall, but be careful to take a good distance from the wall. Walking in the immediate vicinity is still forbidden.

Access: Jezersko – asphalt road in direction of Bio Tourist Farm Makek – the end of asphalt road (parking) – gravel road and walking trail all the way to under Čedca waterfall (40 minutes).

Mountain hut Češka koča (1543 m)


A great view of Baba, Dolgi hrbet, Ledine hut and the valley underneath opens up at the hut.

Several trails lead to Češka koča mountain hut. All are well-marked and secured on exposed parts. A great view of Baba, Dolgi hrbet, Ledine hut and the valley underneath opens up at the hut. Češka koča is opened on weekends from mid-May till the end of June and every day from the end of June till the end of September.

Access: Jezersko (parking) – Bio Tourist Farm Makek – Kačji rob – Češka koča (2 h).

Stegovnik (1628 m)


Stegovnik is as well as Kozji vrh a bit distant from the settlement of Jezersko, but nevertheless not hard to reach if you come by car.

From the top you can enjoy nice views of the Kamnik-Savinja range, the Karavanke mountains and the Julian Alps. Two marked trail lead to the top of Stegovnik.

Access: Spodnje Jezersko – Rezman farm – Močnikova planina – Stegovnik

Walking time: 3 - 3.5 hours



Mountain hut Dom Kokrškega odreda na Kališču (1540 m)


This is an easy reachable and pleasant mountain hut managed by the Mountaineering Society of Kranj.

It offers sleeping facilities and warm food and drinks. It is open daily from May till October and in autumn and winter time only on weekends and holidays. It is a starting point for ascents to Storžič, Tolsti vrh, Bašeljski vrh, Mali Grintovec in Srednji vrh. The hut is reachable from Jezersko or Preddvor.

Access: Jezersko – Kanonir – Dol (Lindav) – Planina Podstoržič – Bašeljsko sedlo – Storžič

Walking time (from Jezersko): 2.5 hours



Žmitkov špic (1124 m)



It is a nice viewpoint above the central settlement of Jezersko.

Access: in direction of Virnikov Grintovec – Farm Žmitek – above the farm, trail leads to the left to the short rocky edge – Žmitkov Špic.



Mountain hut Kranjska koča na Ledinah (1700 m) (Nemška trail)


The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful panoramic views, rich flora and fauna can be observed.

Access: Jezersko – lake Planšarsko jezero – Tourist Farm Ancel – Alpine Lodge Davo Karničar (parking) – Kranjski planinski dom na Ledinah.

Walking time: 1.5 hours.



Footpath along Jezernica brook


The path starts at the playground in the centre of Jezersko and follows Jezernica brook for about 1,5 kilometres.

After that the path takes you shortly uphill and further on all the way to the lake Planšarsko jezero. Continue around the lake.





Goli vrh (1787 m)


Situated on the Slovene-Austrian boarder, Goli vrh offers beautiful views of Jezersko and Kamnik Alps.

Looking to the west, the view opens up onto Karavanke range and in beautiful weather you can see all the way to the Julian Alps spotting also the highest peak Triglav. The view of lake Planšarsko jezero and ash trees dividing farmland around the church of St. Andrew in the valley underneath is especially nice. In summertime you will probably meet local farmer´s sheep grazing on the top of Goli vrh.

Virnikov Grintovec (1654 m)


Virnikov Grintovec guarantees nice morning or afternoon walk.

The trail is mostly steep but not very demanding. From the top Austrian Carinthia can be seen, and underneath in Jezersko you can spot many farms on surrounding hills. Towards south the chain of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and the settlement of Zgornje Jezersko are seen as well.

Access: Jezersko – Hotel Planinka – Parish church of St. Oswald (parking) – Žmitek farm – Virnikov Grintovec (2 h).

The trail is well marked.





Kozji vrh (1628 m)


Mountaineering Society of Jezersko marked the route to Kozji vrh only in 1980s and has been due to its remote position very poorly visited.

If you do not want to meet other hikers and if you enjoy really peaceful places, Kozji vrh is the choice for you.

Access: Spodnje Jezersko – Penzion Kanonir – direction of Podstoržič – gravel road steeply uphill (to the left) – Robce - Kozji vrh (2,5 h).





Mountain hut Kranjska koča na Ledinah (1700 m)


The hut is situated on the plateau Ledine under the Skuta glacier.

Here used to stand shepherd´s cottage but today´s hut was built in 1977. The hut is starting point for numerous climbing ascents in the north walls of Dolgi hrbet, Štruca, Skuta and Rinke and for the hikes to Mt. Baba and Rinke.

Mountain hut Cojzova koča na Kokrskem sedlu (1791 m)


Cojzova koča mountain hut is situated on the saddle between Grintovec and Kalška gora and has stood there for more than hundred years.

The hut is a starting point for trails to Kočna, Grintovec and over Dolška škrbina and Minarsko sedlo to Češka koča, over Sleme and Turski žleb to the hut Frischaufov dom na Okrešlju and over Kotliči to Kamniško sedlo and Brana. From the hut there is also a trail leading to the area´s well known skiing centre Krvavec.

Access (from Jezersko): Jezersko – Kokra valley – farm Suhadolnik – Cojzova koča na Kokrskem sedlu (2 h 45 min).

Access (from Kamnik): Kamnik – Kamniška Bistrica – Cojzova koča na Kokrskem sedlu (3,5 h).





Mountain hut Frischaufov dom na Okrešlju (1378 m)


This is one of the most known huts in Slovene mountains. It was built already in 1876 and in 1917 damaged by the avalanche.

After that they built a new hut on a more appropriate and safer location on the south edge of Okrešelj. It got its name after natural scientist Johannes Frischauf. The hut is surrounded by the walls and ridges of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps – from Mrzla gora and Savinjsko sedlo over Križ, Skuta, Rinka, Turska gora, Brana, Kamniško sedlo, Planjava, Ojstrica to Krofička and further on.

Few minutes walk from the hut stands a memorial plaque to five Slovene mountain rescuers, who got killed in a helicopter rescue excercise in 1997.
